Feeding on Fall Seeds


Hamilton, Ontario, September ,2014 -A male and female goldfinch sits on the branch of a Cup Plant (Silphium Perfoliatum) as they line up lunch in the form seeds in the flower heads. The plant not only provides a great food source for birds, butterflies, bees and insects it’s leave which are joined at their bases to form a cup catch and store rain water to be accessed by all.
