Mattamy National Cycling Centre Velodrome Opens

Milton, Ontario, Jan 3,2015- Mattamy National Cycling Centre Velodrome opened Saturday for the Canadian National Track Cycling Championships. The velodrome is the first UCI-regulated, class 1 indoor velodrome in Canada, and only the second in North America along with the VELO Sports Center in Los Angeles. The 250-metre timber track has two 42-degree angle banks. During the Pan AM games the velodrome will have 2,500 seats. The velodrome is the home of the Cycling Canada’s national track cycling program. Following the track cycling portion of the games, which take place July 16-19 the seating will be reduced to 1,500.
