Traffic Grinds to Halt in Hamilton

Thursday’s accident involving a dump truck atop the Skyway bridge Toronto-bound resulted in the closure of the bridge – today, and for the foreseeable future. Given that the bridge carries upwards of 40,000 vehicles a day, that traffic has to go somewhere. And it has – onto the Linc, the 403, and most of the east-west roads within the city itself. The result? Morning rush hour gridlock. Before the afternoon rush hour gridlock, here’s a look at what to expect. – Barry Gray

Hamilton Muslims celebrate EID

Thousands of local Muslims took part in early morning EID prayers at the Hamilton Mountain Masjid Monday. Eid, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. This is a day when Muslims around the world show a common goal of unity.
